Roadmap
Where the colony application is headed, updated as priorities change. The application is in alpha, so treat everything below as direction rather than as a commitment with a date.
Now
What is being worked on.
Streamlined tracking workflows
The flows for logging medical visits, attaching media and recording events, redesigned around what a caretaker actually does rather than around what was easiest to build first.
Inventory management
Medicines, supplies and equipment per group, with quantities and expiry dates, so nothing runs out unnoticed.
Calendar export
Export any calendar view as an iCal (.ics) file and subscribe to it from
whatever calendar application you already use.
Next
Committed for the near future.
Data import and export
Import and export records, either one entity at a time or as a full dump, so that moving in, moving out and backing up are all possible. This is also what keeps a group from being locked into one host.
Change history
A full audit trail of every record: who changed what, and when. It is also the groundwork for collaborative editing without conflicts.
Auto-save
Form state saved as you type, so nothing is lost to an accidental navigation or a connection that drops.
Later
On the radar, not yet scheduled.
Offline mode
Record entries without a connection, syncing once one is available. Some of the places where people care for animals have no reliable coverage, and that should not stop the record being kept.
